I love the size and mellow gold finish of this large gold-filled locket pendant from the 1930s. It’s American made gold-fill, decorated with a 4-armed star in paste.

Paste is a heavy, transparent flint glass, that simulates the brilliance of gemstones. It was a popular material used in Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco jewelry.

The hinge mechanism on the locket is flawless and opens up to a large interior compartment for a photo or a lock of hair. I’ve left the original picture inside. The large bale is beautifully decorated with filigree which adds to the overall romance of the piece.
